Welcome to the 2016-17 Guilford High School Theatre Arts Parents Support Group (herein known as “TAPS”).
TAPS is an all-volunteer organization of GHS parents and community members who support the Guilford High School Theatre Arts program.
Excitement for this year is already building with the recent announcement of this year’s performances.
The purpose of this e-mail is to give you some quick “start-up” information aboutTAPS for this year.
· OPT IN … please share with friends and those that are new to theater who may want to receive TAPS communications. To add to our distribution list just Reply back (please don’t “Reply to All”) with name, email address, and if they have a child in Theatre Arts, the child’s name and grade.
· OPT OUT … if you no longer wish to receive TAPS e-mails (i.e. your child has moved on to college), please REPLY (don’t “Reply to All” please) to this e-mail with “OPT OUT” in the subject line. We’d still love to have you though : )
· Official Website for all GHSTA information is http://ghsta.weebly.com/ There is a T.A.P.S. tab that contains information on what we do. Information on the T.A.P.S. tab will soon be updated to reflect this school year.

Welcome Back! We are excited to begin this new season! Here are some dates to get you started!
SEPTEMBER 8th - 2:15 - 2:45 in the PAC
Welcome back and introductory meeting. This meeting is for NEW and returning GHSTA folks. Please invite a friend or a first year student to join us!
Audition materials for the fall play and Interview materials for those interested in leadership positions will be handed out at this meeting.
Please note that all students interested in leadership positions in technical areas will need to interview and that ALL students are eligible for consideration for leadership positions.
Mrs. Camarco, Mr. Ripa and Ms. Mulqueen-Teasdale will meet after the interviews and do interview "call backs."
SEPTEMBER 12th -- 7pm TAPS meeting in PAC
This meeting is for all new and returning parents and we will go over all materials for the school year.
SEPTEMBER 15th -- AUDITIONS and TECH INTERVIEWS
2:15 - 5:30 in the PAC for Auditions
3:15 - 5pm in the Chorus Room for Interviews

Congratulations to all of our graduates! For those families who have graduated and are leaving GHS please reply to this email so we can take you off the email list. Thank you for your support and we wish you and your family only the best on your future endeavors. We do hope to see you at future performances. 2016-17 will be another exciting year. Be sure to check the weebly site in July for the production announcement.
This summer we are working on new By-Laws for TAPS as well as a Scholarship Fund. Anyone interested in being involved in these committees please respond to this email or email Jodi directly.
Our next TAPS meeting date has been changed to Monday, June 13 at 7 pm in room D102 as the CT Theater Awards presentation is on June 6.
We will be presenting a slate of new officers for next year as well as discussing this past year and planning for next year.
We are still in need of a treasurer and will not be able to function without one. We are also looking for people to step up as co-chairs to our current committees as they will all be graduating next year. And we will need a flower committee chair for next year. Please consider stepping up and helping to support our amazing program and our wonderful students.
The List of Students who are ELIGIBLE for ITS induction are posted on the BULLETIN BOARD outside the PERFORMING ARTS OFFICE:

There is much to discuss and decide on in the midst of the West Side Story production run. Hope you can come!
Our next TAPS Officers and Committees Meeting will be held this coming Monday, April 4th from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in room D102.
We'll be right in the middle of our production run with a lot of coordination issues to discuss and decide on.
Anyone is welcome to these meetings - come and learn about what we're doing and plug into the action!
